Retirement is a generous word for a loan.
Generation Income Properties, a REIT the market values at about $1M, announced the "Full Retirement of Loci Capital Financing Relationship" at 4:30 PM ET. $GIPR is +39.04% after hours.
The headline confirms one thing: a lender is out. It does not give the price of the exit. Paying off a financing relationship takes cash from somewhere. It could come from the balance sheet, a property sale, a new lender or new shares. Each route leaves a very different company behind, and the title names none of them.
Cross-stock history: opening gaps of 30% or more in stocks priced $1+ cover 3,383 prior sessions. 66% of them closed below their own open. That is a regular-session record. An after-hours print is not an opening gap yet, and the record is not this REIT's odds.
Find out how the loan got paid before you price the relief. Then go cook dinner.
