Logistic Properties of the Americas says it completed a US$145 million asset sale in Peru. The release landed ten minutes after the close. Going into tonight, the market valued the entire company at about $108M.
Everyone will screenshot that comparison, and it puts the wrong two numbers side by side. US$145 million is what the buyer paid for the Peru assets. It is not what shareholders keep. The headline gives a sale price with no net figure after whatever debt, taxes and fees were attached to those properties.
The company also owns less real estate tonight than it did this morning. A sale swaps buildings for cash. You don't get to count both.
$LPA is +15.04% after hours. If that becomes an opening gap of 15% or more, it joins a cross-stock history of 8,008 such sessions. In that history, 61% closed below their own open, and the median open-to-close was -3.35%. That describes the setup, not LPA's odds.
The missing number is net proceeds, and it sits in the filing, not the headline.
