$AMC -4.61% — what the base rate says

Two scripts for the same 888 million-share float, written three days apart.

Wednesday's Zacks piece pitched $AMC as a bargain with momentum. It cited 8.7% over four weeks, 28.4% over twelve, a beta of 1.97 and a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy). Saturday morning, with the market shut, an X post claimed dark pool trading is "artificially" lowering days to cover to keep squeeze metrics under the radar.

The feed lists AMC at -4.61%. Neither item explains that number. The Zacks note is dated background, and the dark-pool post landed on a closed market.

This feed carried no historical gap sample for AMC, so there is no base rate in this post and I am not going to invent one. The one useful job left for the weekend is to write down which script you believed, and the evidence that would change your mind.

Put it in the journal before Monday, because by then a price will try to tell you that you were right.

What the data showed

  • $AMC -4.61% mcap $2.7B · float 888M shares · sector: SERVICES-MOTION PICTURE THEATERS

Neither script tells you what AMC's own gap sessions did between the open and the close. Pull that history on FILTRIX.net and read the outcomes before you pick a story.
