Twenty-two prior mornings is the Rivian file: sessions where $RIVN opened at least 5% above the prior close. Roughly a third of them closed above that open. Sixty-four percent closed below it, and the median finished 1.17% under where it opened. That record was sitting there before UBS said a word, and it is the company's own habit with a good morning, not a cross-stock guess.
UBS said buy and cited R2 demand, so $RIVN is +10.20%, and Lucid is up 7.8% for having read a note about somebody else. Demand is the cheap half. The Oct 31 write-up of the Q3 print made the point against itself: the R2 is now the best-selling Rivian by volume, delivery guidance moved up to 67,000-70,000, and the sentence that matters says the win is building them with fewer labor hours per unit, not selling more of them. Two Fool pieces since Friday carry the same number, 1,364%, which is what Tesla did in three years and what Rivian has done in zero.
An upgrade grades the order book. The order book does not pay for the plant. Positive automotive gross margin is still filed as a year-end 2026 expectation in that same Q3 release, with two months left on the calendar; that line gets checked, the rating does not.
